ABOUT THE PROJECT
- Background historical research
- Cultural Format guideline
- Public Speaking
Make history alive. This was the aim of the project we undertook in Spring 2015. We had to engage general public, non-specialist, in the rich and varied history of Milan.
We designed a series of live historical evening talks with a new format based on three parts: a spoken presentation with videos and images delivered by two history experts, focused on a specific story from the period (like the first serial killer in Italian history), then a themed aperitif with historical food prepared by historic cuisine experts, together with relevant live music, ending with a short guided tour to an iconic place of Milan related to the theme. The series was made of eight evenings, each one with a different subject: Roman times, Renaissance, XIX century, Belle Epoque, Futurism, the Second World War, the Seventies and the Eighties.
The evenings were very successful with a high degree of fidelization of participants, and many local newspapers and blog reporting the events. The Renaissance evening and buffet was then repeated for Sorin, an international pharmaceutical company.
